INFOTECH - May/June 2008

Within this double length edition of the magazine, during the first two hours we talk about downloading music from the Internet.  Brian from our company and Anna Dresner from the National Braille Press in the United States talk about the benefits of music downloading services and how to get the most from them when using screen-reading technology.  The services used are iTunes, E-Music, Amazon and Napster.

Terry then reviews version 2 of the Victor Reader stream firmware, including discussing the many advantages this free update can offer and he demonstrates using it in conjunction with the System Access screen-reader so as to download protected content to the device.

Brian then reviews Typeability - a low cost product used with the JAWS for Windows screen-reader or Magic screen magnifier.  Using Typeability is good for new users to the computer keyboard and it will also assist anyone to improve their typing skills.

Finally, Terry and Brian talk about Sight Village 2008 and the new products which will be displayed during the event on 15, 16 and 17 July 2008.
